We are located on a rural property just north of Toowoomba 100km west of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia . Across five generations, our blood lines are strictly controlled with breeding based on skeletal soundness and true Labrador type. We strive for excellence in temperament and trainability in all of our Pawling labrador pups. 

Our chocolate and black Pawling Labradors live in a rural environment 2 hours west of Brisbane with controlled access to livestock, fenced paddocks, various fruit orchards and dams. All of our Pawlinglabs are well socialised and Level 4 obedience & livestock trained by 12mths of age. <<<< SUE Is this last sentence true??????

All our breeding dogs are Orivet ‘full breed profile’ tested, clear of all conditions.

‘Pawling Labradors' is registered with Dogs Queensland as breeders of pure bred chocolate and black labrador puppies. Our breeders prefix is Pawling 4100149021. We follow the strict rules of that organisation to ensure the welfare of sires and bitches as well as registration of every puppy.

Pawling chocolate & black labrador puppies are regularly available

Litters, are regularly available from our outstanding chocolate & black girls.  Selection of a puppy from the litter is at week 6 after birth.

As we don’t know the number of puppies in upcoming litters, we limit our advance orders to 3 males & 3 females.

Our estimates of the date of upcoming litters depend on the date of the next heat and other factors. Mother Nature has the final word!

A $200 deposit will secure your place on the waiting list. Puppies are available for pick up 8 weeks after birth.

To prepare for your 8 wk old puppy we recommend the purchase of -

An extra large metal crate, with lifetime benefit.

A Cambridge Kuranda Series dog bed      (From therian.com.au )

1 roll of 1200mmX 50m corrugated paper (from Office works / Bunnings. An order required for this non-stock item).

A 600mm high puppy fence / play pen. Two D feeder troughs by (IPetz.com.au )

Nexgard spectra or equivalent as an essential ‘tick treatment’ from any pet shop.

Your puppy’s first fear imprint period is 8-16 wks. ALLOW 18 WEEKS, << BUT EVERY BITCH HAS A DIFFERENT DUE DATE???? <<< to the release of your puppy. The first indication that a girl is on heat is the observable blood spotting. << WHO CARES???

Estimating the heat / season of a breeding girl is based on the date of her previous heat. And the timing of her heat can be delayed by as much as 8wks.  Weather, health and  general life dynamics will all influence the timing of the her next heat.

Receipt of your Pawling labrador pup is 18wks away. << ???? NO THIS DEPENDS ON THE ESTIMATE OF THE DATE OF BIRTH<< The break up of the weeks commencing with blood spotting is

1wk - 2wks to 'joining' + 9wks pregnancy + 8wks with Pawling after birth = 18 wks

As you can see, everything is dependent upon the date that the bitch goes to heat. Mother Nature has the final word.

Litter Care

Weight gain is the best indicator of health in each new puppy. We weigh the puppies daily, every morning until release at 8 weeks of age. The litter is wormed fortnightly from 2 weeks of age. We introduce the litter to ‘solid food’ from 3 weeks of age. And from 4 weeks of age, the puppies have access to a controlled outdoor area to explore, smell and experience life. In conjunction with this, we begin temperament testing the puppies. These activities are part of the process of building confidence. To help the puppies gain confidence, they can walk on planks & climb on small rises. The inquisitive nature of labrador puppies helps them find their way around partitions & obstacles. We encourage problem solving.
The litter is vaccinated, microchipped & vet checked at 6 weeks of age. Our Pawling Labrador puppies are raised on Black Hawk Large Breed Puppy food.
